Optimal practice and skills development

The core of good and effective training is optimal practice based on personal goals, enriched with high-quality feedback. That is Kenhardt’s High Impact Training (HIT). A unique form of training and a proven concept that in practice is a great HIT!

Next level in training, the answer to the traditional method

The High Impact Training approach is also known as next level training. This is the answer to the traditional method with a trainer, an actor and a group of ten to twelve participants practicing with each other. An outdated concept with limited learning, which participants often resent. The High Impact Training is an innovative method that breaks through the resistance of participants. HIT is: optimal practice with recognizable cases based on personal learning questions and professional feedback.

Suitable for all one-to-one conversations

The methodology of the High Impact Training is suitable for participants to practice all topics where conversation techniques in a one-on-one conversation are decisive:

  • Leadership;
  • Sales Conversations;
  • People Management;
  • Selection interviews;
  • Complaint Conversations;
  • Appraisal interviews;
  • Progress calls;
  • Procurement interviews;
  • Etc.

A HIT for five to sixty people

High Impact Training can be conducted for small or large groups. We have experience with groups of five to sixty people. In the dynamic High Impact Training, we practice conducting various conversations in pairs or threesomes of continuously changing compositions. The training is structured in blocks of fifteen or twenty minutes. Participants are continuously engaged under high pressure in the following activities:

  • Preparing for an interview;
  • Conducting the conversation;
  • Receiving feedback;
  • Observing colleagues.

Personal development points

The training is based on the participants’ personal development points. Prior to the training an online assessment is used. This makes the learning objectives per participant razor-sharp and all participants go into the training well prepared and focused.
Are the learning points already available? Then of course we use them. Clear learning needs form the basis of the High Impact Training.

Co-creation and customisation

The High Impact Training is a customised programme that we develop and implement in co-creation with clients. This requires an investment up front that quickly pays for itself. Because we develop case histories for the simulations together, they fit seamlessly into the real world of the participants and the simulations are experienced as truthful. This is also due to the quality of the actors, who are well-informed about the participants’ working environment and are linked to the case via typecasting. In each simulation, the participant encounters a different interlocutor (actor), which ensures great variety during the training. The actors are also familiar with individual learning points and respond to these during the conversations. This results in real customisation per participant!
In addition, trainers or managers from the organisation are often involved in the implementation. This makes it even more of a co-creation!

Guidance and feedback

Each participant has a professional supervisor who observes him or her in the various simulations. The simulations are evaluated with the supervisor. The feedback is sharp and always constructive. Because the supervisor is familiar with individual learning points, depth can be achieved quickly. Using the recordings, behaviour patterns are unerringly exposed and tips for the next simulation can be given in the debriefing. Sometimes a simulation is stopped by the facilitator to give short feedback with an instruction, which is then applied by the participant. The result is that during the training, self-insight increases, tips are picked up and participants show clear progression. The rapid demonstrable learning curve further motivates participants to apply the conversation technique in practice. In short, it really is a High Impact Training!
Besides the facilitators, the actors give brief feedback after each simulation. In addition, the facilitator keeps track of feedback during the training by means of a feedback form. After the training, participants receive the recordings of all simulations and the report of the written feedback.

Results in practice

Kenhardt is all about participants putting what they have learned into practice. That is why we help clients transfer to the workplace. Agreements are made with participants on implementation, but sometimes the organisation needs to facilitate this. Then we are ready to help. Our goal is that the participants and the organisation take a big step forward.

Digital assets, live or remote

High Impact Training (HIT) can be conducted either live or remote. In the remote version, the training is conducted online via Microsoft Teams.
Participants follow their own personal programme. They meet colleagues at the opening, during a digital coffee-break and in the joint final evaluation. In addition, the options can be used to make recordings of simulations, create their own rooms or watch anonymously.
A remote HIT saves considerably in price. This is because costs of a physical location, catering and travel expenses of participants do not apply!

However, if the preference is for on-site training, we are of course happy to take it up! We also make full use of the power of the concept and use digital resources in that case, too.

Participants’ experiences

Due to the focused approach of the High Impact Training, the results are amazing and the participants, without exception, are very enthusiastic! In the evaluation, participants often give HIT a 9 or 10! We are convinced that this method of training is the future.

Quotes from participants:

  • ‘This was really good and not just another training course.’
  • ‘The practical, dynamic approach was great.’
  • ‘Very intensive and very meaningful’
  • ‘Good to be held up to the mirror.’
  • ‘What a tight organisation for such a complex process.’
  • ‘I learnt a lot also by observing a colleague.’
  • ‘By using professionals, the situations were life-like for me.’
  • ‘Best training in years.’
